Castle Itinerary
Known to the locals as Castellaccio, the Castle of Santa Maria is one of the symbolic places of Tirano’s urban history. Built by the will of Ludovico il Moro as part of the city’s defensive system, it has played a more civil than military role over time, influencing the development of the village until the 19th century. Today, thanks to the restoration of the ruins and the tower, it is a panoramic and narrative destination that allows you to view Tirano from above and retrace its origins.

- Piazza Cavour
Starting point in the heart of the historic city. - Via Torelli – Strada comunale Castello
Gradual ascent towards the hill with the first views.
- Castle of Santa Maria (Castellaccio)
Restored ruins and panoramic tower overlooking the town and the valley. - Via Santa Maria
Return along the ancient path that included the medieval church.
- Porta Milanese
Ancient access towards Milan. - Piazza Parravicini
Scenic space with Palazzo Parravicini, octagonal fountain, and Chiesetta dell’Addolorata. - Return to Piazza Cavour
