Cookie Policy Notice – Visit Tirano
Updated version as of December 30, 2025
This cookie policy is provided in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”) and in compliance with Art. 122 of Legislative Decree 196/2003 (“Privacy Code”), as well as the Provisions of the Data Protection Authority No. 229 of May 8, 2014, and No. 231 of June 10, 2021, regarding cookies.
The Cookie Policy is addressed to those who access the Visit Tirano website. The notice is provided solely for the Site and not for any other websites that may be consulted by the user through links present on the Site.
1. Data Controller
The Data Controller is Comune di Tirano, located at Piazza Cavour, 18 – 23037 Tirano (SO) (hereinafter “Comune di Tirano” or “Controller”).
For privacy requests and to exercise rights, you can contact: ufficio.protocollo@comune.tirano.so.it.
2. What are cookies and what are they used for
Cookies are small text files that websites visited by the user send to their device, where they are stored to be retransmitted to the same sites on the next visit.
Typically, cookies can be installed:
by the site operator (first-party cookies);
by third parties other than the site operator (third-party cookies), due to the presence on the site of elements attributable to external services (e.g., maps, videos, analytics tools, etc.).
The information collected through first-party cookies is stored by the visited site operator, while that collected through third-party cookies is stored by third parties.
3. Types of cookies
Cookies are used for different purposes (e.g., computer authentication, session monitoring, user preferences).
3.1 Technical cookies (necessary)
Technical cookies allow normal browsing and the proper functioning of the Site (e.g. session management, security, essential preferences). The installation of such cookies does not require the user’s consent.
3.2 Analytics cookies (statistical)
Cookies used to collect information, also in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the Site. If configured to reduce identifiability (e.g., aggregated/anonymized data), they may be considered “technical” cookies; otherwise, they are installed only with prior consent.
3.3 Functionality cookies
Cookies that allow the user to navigate according to selected criteria (e.g., language) to improve the service provided. If not strictly necessary, they are installed only with prior consent.
3.4 Profiling/marketing cookies (if any)
If present, these are cookies aimed at creating user profiles and used to send targeted commercial communications or for advertising activities. These cookies are installed only with prior consent.
4. Consent management (banner) and cookie list
Upon accessing the Site, a banner allows you to:
accept all non-essential cookies;
reject non-essential cookies;
configure preferences by category.
By closing the banner without consenting to non-essential cookies, only technical (necessary) cookies will be installed.
Cookie list: the updated list of cookies actually used (including name, purpose, and duration) is made available directly in the cookie management panel accessible from the banner and/or from the “Cookie Settings” link on the Site.
(This is because the list may change depending on plugins, integrated services, and configurations.)
5. Deleting and managing cookies from the browser
The user can set their browser to accept all cookies, receive notifications when a cookie is sent, or not receive cookies at all. For management (activation/deactivation) based on the browser, you can consult the support guides of the main browsers (Edge, Safari, Chrome, Firefox, Opera).
6. User rights and complaints
For information or to exercise the rights set out in Articles 15–22 of the GDPR, you may send an email to ufficio.protocollo@comune.tirano.so.it. The user also has the right to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Authority if they believe that the processing is carried out in violation of the applicable legislation.
7. Changes to this Cookie Policy
New regulations, cookie updates, or technological innovations may require changes to this notice. Users are invited to periodically review this page.
